AFLW U18 Champs: Round 4 results

Vic Country and Vic Metro both had final round wins in the NAB AFL Women’s U18 Championships on Friday at Broadbeach, Queensland.

Vic Country made it a clean sweep of all four games at the Championships,  defeating WA in the final round by 22 points, to claim the unofficial Championship title. Dandenong Stingray Georgia Gee led the way with 21 disposals while Bendigo Pioneer Eden Zanker kicked three goals to finish the Championships as the leading goalkicker. Gippsland Power’s Tyla Hanks received the Vic Country MVP award averaging 12 disposals a game and kicking two goals in the three Queensland matches.

Vic Metro finished the Championships on a positive note, claiming back-to-back wins after a seven-point win over NSW/ACT. Calder Cannons Madison Prespakis capped off an impressive Championships with 29 disposals, nine clearances and two goals in the final game, to walk away with not only the Metro MVP but also the Player of the Championships award averaging 24 disposals in the three Queensland matches. Sarah Dargan (Calder Cannons) impressed in the final game with 14 disposals along with Olivia Flanagan (Eastern Ranges) nine.
